How to Check Price History in India: Amazon & Flipkart (2026)

Indian online stores change prices often: during the big October sales, when a different seller takes over the product page, or simply from one week to the next. A discount badge only compares today's price with the MRP. Price history compares it with what the same product actually sold for. This guide shows how to check price history in India for Amazon.in and Flipkart products using AIPriceHistory, what each number means, and how to turn that into a free alert.

Step 1: Copy the product link

Open the product on Amazon.in or Flipkart and copy the URL from the address bar or the share button. Short links work too: amzn.in links for Amazon and dl.flipkart.com links for Flipkart. If you only know the product name, you can search for it instead, but a link is more exact because colour, storage and seller variants often have different histories.

Step 2: Paste it into the tracker

Paste the link on the AIPriceHistory home page, the Amazon price history page or the Flipkart price history page. A product we already track opens immediately with its price history. A new product gets a first check of its store page and tracking starts from there, so its chart fills in over the following days.

Step 3: Read the four numbers that matter

  • Last checked price with the date of the check. If the date is more than a few days old, confirm the live price on the store.
  • Lowest price seen and when we first saw it. This is the lowest selling price in all our checks of that exact product.
  • Lowest in the last 30 and 90 days. A sale price that equals the 90-day low is a different story from one that merely matches a two-year-old low.
  • Monthly price history: the lowest, highest and average price for each month in which we checked. It shows whether today's price is normal for the season or unusual.

Step 4: Judge the sale price honestly

Compare today's price with the lowest price seen and with the usual price range on the product page. If the price sits within a few percent of the low and the history is reasonably long, the discount is real. If the price is well above the monthly lows of recent months, the badge is doing the work and waiting may be the better choice. Remember that coupons, bank offers, exchange values and delivery charges are not included, so your checkout total can be lower than the price shown.

Step 5: Set a free price-drop alert

On the product page, choose a target: the lowest price seen, a percentage below today, or your own number. Confirm the OTP sent to your email. When one of our regular checks finds the price at or below the target, you get one email with the price and the check date. The price tracker page explains the alert workflow in detail, including why a very brief drop between checks can be missed.

What price history cannot tell you

  • It does not predict future prices. A long history helps you judge today, not forecast tomorrow.
  • It records listed prices only, so personalised offers are invisible.
  • A product with only a few checks has very little history, and the product page says so instead of showing a price rating.
Tip: Check the history a week or two before a sale starts. If the pre-sale price quietly rises and then shows a large discount, the monthly table makes that visible at a glance.
